UKJF on Demand: The Mover

This award-winning drama recounts the true story of blue-collar worker Zanis Lipke’s epic rescue operation during the war, which saved the lives of some 40 Jews. Following Nazi invasion in 1942, Zanis was positioned at the Luftwaffe factory in Riga alongside Jews from the ghetto, forced into labour. Using their black-market connections, Zanis and wife hid Jews in the tiny basement beneath their barn, putting their – and their children’s – lives at immense risk. The Mover is a suspenseful drama about an exceptional act of bravery and sacrifice.
