UKJF on Demand: Those Who Remained

Budapest, 1948.  Aladár, a 42-year old gynaecologist who survived the camps but lost his two sons and wife, meets Klára, a 16-year old bright girl who refuses to accept that her parents may not return. The two solitary, lost souls soon form a strong bond that protects them from the trauma of the war and the increased threat from the Soviet troops in the country. This sensitive, superbly acted drama was selected as Hungary’s Oscar entry this year.
