Too frequently, history and human achievement is seen through the prism of male achievement. In this five week course we will explore the lives and achievements of a number of remarkable women who have changed the courses of human history. Starting with Cleopatra, not only will we consider more modern women like Marie Curie and Jacinda Ardern but we'll also spend a bit of time on those whom the group nominates.
By the end of the course, we'll know whether this attention to women is mere tokenism or a proper recalibrating of our historical awareness! Come armed with suggestions of who should be included.
